Land Rover has a special “Reborn” program that restores and sells classic vehicles with a factory warranty. In the past, the program restored several Series 1 models. This time around they went with the classic Range Rover. The Reborn Range Rovers will be 100 percent original and Land Rover’s special program plans to build 10 of the classic SUVs.
Because the Reborn Range Rover’s will be a very limited run, Land Rover will place a pretty hefty price tag on these vintage bad boys. Still, we’re sure there are some collectors out there that are just itching to drop the large sum Land Rover wants for these factory-restored iconic rides. The vehicles are carefully selected and restored perfectly to their original condition down to the finest detail.
Here are some of the highlights:
- The Reborn Range Rover’s will feature a Buick-derived 3.5-liter V8 that produces a paltry 132 hp.
- The price for these restored beauties will start at $170,000
- The first example of the Reborn Range Rover series will appear at the Parisian Salon Retomobile show that is held from February 8th to the 12th.
- The first example will be a three-door 1978 model with a Bahama Gold paint job (the vehicle in the photos).
Tim Hannig, Director at Land Rover Classic, told AutoExpress that the Reborn venture is “a wonderful way to preserve the much sought after three-door original Range Rover from the 1970s, from period-correct color ways to interior trim and accessories.”
We agree with Hannig but wish that the Reborn Range Rovers had a lower starting price. That way we could do more than dream about owning one.
